Cagayan - On March 11, 2025, personnel from 112SAC of 11th Special Action Battalion of PNP SAF provided tactical support to the elements of 2nd Cagayan Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), as lead unit, and other PNP units in a counterinsurgency operation that resulted to the recovery of arms cache in Brgy. Villa Cielo, Buguey, Cagayan.
The operation was conducted based on the revelation of a former CTG member regarding the alleged arms cache buried in the said place. Recovered during the operation were one M79 grenade launcher, one fragmentation hand grenade, one improvised explosive device (IED) charge, three blasting caps, five 40mm of High-Explosive Dual Purpose (HEDP) cartridges, nine rounds of 40mm ammunition, 37 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, two rounds of 5.56mm ammunition, three 5.56mm firearm magazines, one 12-volt motorcycle battery, and five meters of commercial wire.
2nd Cagayan PMFC and Cagayan Provincial Explosive and Canine Unit (PECU) took custody of the recovered items for documentation and disposition.
The successful operation highlights the unwavering commitment of law enforcement units in combating insurgency and ensuring public safety.
